How a custom made leather jacket is measured
No shop to walk into, and that is the point.
Measuring runs on our tailoring house's own app — the one thousands of Nathan Tailors customers have used from home — set to jacket mode, so it asks for the upper body only and skips the trouser measurements a jacket has no use for.
A leather jacket is the worst garment to buy off a rack. It has no give, it cannot be let out, and the difference between a good fit and a near fit is the whole jacket. So we do not stock sizes at all.

Take eight measurements
Neck, shoulder, chest, waist, sleeve, bicep, armhole and length — a jacket needs the upper body only, not the full-body set a suit does. A guided app walks you through each one with a 3D figure showing exactly where the tape sits. Fifteen minutes, a friend, and a soft tape.

Choose the pattern and the hide
Pick a pattern off the line sheet, then the hide and weight. We tell you what each one does when it ages — that matters more on a leather jacket than on anything else you own.

We cut it
Cut and sewn to your numbers in Hội An. Nothing is pre-made and taken in; the pattern is drawn to you before a knife touches the hide.

Why measure at all
A jacket needs the upper body only — the full-body set a suit calls for is not required here. But leather cannot be let out or taken in the way cloth can — hide is cut once, and a stitch line leaves permanent holes. That is the whole reason we do not sell sizes: on a garment you cannot correct afterwards, the measuring is not a nicety, it is the work.
